Ty Lue and LeBron have spoken within the last few weeks, and of course 23 would welcome a reunion with his coach from the Cavs. But neither LeBron nor Rich Paul told the Lakers whom to hire as coach — per sources— Joe Vardon (@joevardon) May 3, 2019

Report: LeBron hasn’t told Lakers who to hire
It’s not that I’m against a teams’ best player having a say in organizational decisions. Kobe Bryant of course has a small say in certain hires and maybe even some free agency signings. The tough realization is that LeBron James holds more say in his organizations than one would like. So much so, the Cavs got into some really bad contracts because LeBron got players more money than they deserved and then bolted. Leaving the Cavs in a tough situation for at least a few years. However, the moment Lakers slid that contract across the desk to LeBron and Rich Paul, they sold their souls for the next 3-4 years. That’s just the reality.
