Jimmy Butler could be plan B this summer

Jimmy Butler has brought toxicity wherever he’s gone. He will be 30 by the time next season comes around and would most likely want a max 4-year deal. He has a lot of miles on him from playing for Tom Thibodeau for so many years and hasn’t exactly been a poster-boy of health during his career. So the issue for me, aside from the toxicity and health would be that we would have max deals tied up in 2 superstars who are past their prime.
The Lakers have been working to add an All-Star next to James since the three-time champion announced his intentions to sign last July. Butler could be a serious candidate for their available cap space this offseason.
"L.A., sources said, was one of several teams to inquire about Butler before the swingman was traded to Philadelphia," Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reported on Friday.
Butler would give the Lakers another aggressive scorer and wing defender. He's not a true shooter, but when it comes to point-getting, his nickname is "Jimmy Buckets."

Lakers Called Players Meeting to Ask LeBron to Stop Reacting to Teammates Mistakes

It’s unbelievable that this has to even be done at all with the ‘leader’ and arguably the best player in the league.
"The meeting in Memphis was a retort of sorts. In what became an open forum, several players spoke up. Players focused on James’ inconsistent body language throughout the year. The four-time MVP copped to the critique, telling his teammates that, in essence, cutting out behavior like slumped shoulders and sideways glances has been something he has tried to work on his entire career."

LeBron out the rest of the year

LeBron will sit the remainder of the season. It’s a wonder why he’s even been playing since being eliminated from playoff contention if the groin has even been an issue at all.

Also, is he going on this trip to sit down with Anthony Davis?
“After consulting with our team doctors and medical staff, we have decided to hold LeBron out of games for the remainder of the season. This decision will allow his groin to fully heal, and is best for the future success of both LeBron and the Lakers.”
James will travel with the team on the upcoming road trip to New Orleans and Oklahoma City.

Walton: I fully expect to be coaching this team again next year

Luke Walton was interviewed by ‘The Athletic’ and was quoted saying that he still believes he’ll be the coach of this team.

I believe that Luke is a professional, why would he say anything different? He hasn’t been fired so why would he have any other answer?

Lonzo’s manager posts video dumping ‘BBB’ shoes

It’s looking increasing likely that Lonzo Ball has parted ways with the family-owned ‘Big Baller Brand’. Here’s a video of Zo’s manager dumping ‘BBB’ shoes.

Wade: ‘Can’t talk about LeBron missing playoffs’

Dwyane Wade is always going to come to the defense of LeBron, but he’s absolutely right about the Western Conference being tough.

I want to point out that the Lakers would likely not have kept up being the 4th seed in the West had LeBron not gotten injured. The winning percentage at that time was still comparable to low seeds in the playoffs in the West right now despite being in fourth at that time. We would have more than likely been playing the Warriors in the first round.
"LeBron's not a guy that is accustomed to losing and not making the playoffs," he said. "Obviously, man, those 18 games that he was out hurt with them, it's kind of a wash. You can't even really talk about him not making the playoffs, because of that. They was the fourth seed when he went out. It's unfortunate."
Wade said it's too tough for a team to overcome losing its best player: "Having a year out there in the Western Conference, it is tough. You can't miss time, you can't miss games like he missed. So hopefully, going forward, he doesn't have that."

Woj: Lakers will consider Kidd for coaching job

While Jason Kidd was one of my favorite players to watch, he simply hasn’t proven himself as a strong head coach in the NBA, yet. I’m not sold on Ty Lue as being a good head coach either, but if LeBron wants Lue, LeBron will get Lue.

Kidd will be among the serious candidates for the Lakers coaching job if Luke Walton is dismissed, league sources tell ESPN. That’s expected to give Kidd some pause on pursuing the Cal opening now.

ESPN: Lonzo cuts ties with ‘BBB’ co-founder

$1.5million is no small order. This happened to Duncan for an even greater amount some years ago, really unfortunate for Lonzo.

Los Angeles Lakers guard Lonzo Ball has severed ties with a co-founder of Big Baller Brand over concerns that the longtime family friend has a criminal past and also has not adequately accounted for the whereabouts of roughly $1.5 million from Ball's personal and business accounts.
Ball told ESPN that he believes that Alan Foster, a friend of Lonzo's father for almost a decade who owns 16.3 percent of Big Baller Brand, had "used his access to my business and personal finances to enrich himself. As a result, I have decided to sever all ties with Alan, effective immediately."

Report: LeBron will never wear a Clippers jersey

lebron

Great, glad we cleared that up.
"I was told by LeBron's camp: He will never wear a Clippers jersey" -

Insiders think top free agents will snub Lakers this offseason

After losing out on Paul George, who everyone thought was a shoe-in to become a Laker last offseason, these reports seem to be getting more realistic.
Despite signing LeBron James last offseason, the Lakers are 11th in the Western Conference with a disappointing 31-40 record. L.A. is clearly in need of another superstar to pair with James, but Oram's report suggests the Lakers may have to trade for someone like New Orleans Pelicans big man Anthony Davis to make it happen.

Kobe to LeBron: ‘keep pushing’

Kobe

Kobe giving some possibly unsolicited advice? Probably.

"You just gotta keep pushing," Bryant said of his potential advice to LeBron (via Chelsea Howardof Sporting News). "Seasons like this are what make the championships worth it."
When asked about Magic, he replied: "It's just a matter of being patient. Obviously they'll make smart decisions. You have opportunities, things, pieces that you can trade, assets of that sort, or you can stay with the young guys who are extremely talented and have great upside and let them develop. Either direction you go should be a good direction."

Woj: Rivers signs extension with Clippers

And just like that, Doc Rivers signs an extension with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Steve Ballmer and Doc Rivers did a short extension over the summer that allowed both sides a chance to escape deal in 2019. As Rivers told reporters, that's been replaced with a longer-term deal. For Rivers, Lakers were never a consideration. He wanted to crush that talk today.

Report: Doc Rivers told LeBron doesn’t want to be coached

LeBron and Doc

During Tuesday's episode of Pardon The Interruption, Michael Wilbon addressed the rumors about Doc Rivers potentially taking over as Lakers head coach next season:
"There are people in southern California right now in that environment telling Doc he doesn't wanna do this. And one of those reasons is simply, LeBron James. He's been told by people—and I know this—LeBron doesn't want to be coached. He's never been coached by someone with that kind of personality, command, authority, acumen, intellect. He's rejected that. So Doc is being reminded of that by people."
This doesn’t surprise me one bit as LeBron has been known to be a “coach killer” his entire career. No coach has escaped LeBron other that Eric Spoelstra who Pat Riley refused to fire for LeBron.

LA Times: Ingram expected to make full recovery from surgery

Ingram

Brandon Ingram is expected to make a full recovery after having thoracic outlet decompression surgery Saturday to repair a structural issue in his veins that caused a blood clot in his right arm.
“This was the best set of facts you could have with a clot,” Jeff Schwartz, Ingram’s agent, said. “It’s a night and day difference between a structural and hematological issue. Because it was structural, he will have a full recovery.”
Ingram had the surgery eight days after Lakers doctors discovered the blood clot, or deep venous thrombosis. He missed two games with what the Lakers called a sore shoulder on March 4 and 6. Ingram was given antibiotics to treat his issue, but when his condition didn’t improve, he underwent further testing and doctors suspected a blood clot.

After examining the area with a camera, doctors thought the problem was structural, not hematological, or a disease of the blood. Ingram then underwent blood testing that confirmed that diagnosis.

Should Lakers trade LeBron?

On this episode we talk about whether LeBron cares or not, A possible Boogie signing this offseason and if the Lakers would trade LeBron.

I was wrong now who’s to blame?

We talk about LeBron and the Lakers’ season being a disaster and who or what exactly is to blame.
